A bridge is a series of crowns (caps) that are connected together. Used to replace missing teeth, these restorations span or "bridge" the gap created by the lost teeth and are anchored to teeth on each side of the gap. The result is a tooth-like restoration that is strong and durable.

Bridges are used on back teeth as well as in the front of the mouth. The typical bridge is constructed of porcelain connected to a metal frame that provides strength. Some newer bridges are made of a special porcelain and have no metal. These are primarily designed for front teeth and look fantastic.

In complex cases, bridges are often used along with individual crowns, veneers and even removable partial dentures. In fact, bridges can even be attached to dental implants to help reconstruct an entire mouth! Bridges are truly the workhorse restoration when it comes to rebuilding teeth and your smile!
